ATU

Established in April 2022, ATU is a vibrant multi-campus institution in Ireland's West and Northwest. Its energetic student population includes over 20,000 learners and spans 600+ academic programmes from pre-degree to doctoral level. ATU's mission is to provide accessible lifelong learning through teaching, research, and regional development aligned with national higher education policies. ATU excels in innovation and practical, solution-oriented studies, addressing societal challenges through research and collaboration. 

The Department of Sport, Exercise, and Nutrition at ATU is research-active, focusing on the latest in sports, exercise, nutrition, preventative health and well-being. ATU's commitment extends to agri-food, environmental sustainability, and improving physical and mental health across Europe. As a student-staff body, ATU prioritises physical, mental, emotional, and social well—being and integrates these aspects into its academic programs to support life progression and overall satisfaction. 

With expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods, teaching and learning pedagogical approaches, online resource development, and work-based training, ATU is excited to collaborate on the EMERGE Youth project. ATU will leverage its ecosystem of students and youth to support the development, practice, and promotion of effective stress management and mental health strategies for youth and educators.
